Well, dreamys, spring has officially sprung. Which means out with the seasonal depression and in with the white toenails, day parties, and spicy margs aka my 2023 spring wellness essentials. As we transition into the warmer months, I’m capitalizing off of this boost of serotonin and adding these essentials to maximize my happiness, health, and overall well-being.
This ocean waves video.
My defining character trait is that I don’t play about my sleep. I have a mouth guard, earplugs, and a whole routine that I follow religiously every night. I’ve typically gone back and forth with different sleep meditations and melatonin, but this ocean waves video has been all of those methods beat. I love this video because it’s 12 hours long, so you can leave it on all night, and the screen is extremely dim, so the light won’t stop you from getting some good rest.
This homemade cold remedy
There is nothing that you can’t find on TikTok or Youtube, including the cure to the common cold. I’m kidding (but I’m not). When I felt a little scratch in my throat and a run in my nose early this month, I made this concoction which tastes exactly like the cayenne pepper immunity booster at Jamba Juice. I kid you not within 48 hours, my symptoms were gone, and I was as good as new. *Pro tip: add cinnamon, lemon slices, and cayenne pepper to this recipe.*
This book about how food can heal the body.
Speaking of cures, I picked up this book at the beginning of the year in an effort to research alternatives to traditional medicine. Since our bodies are organic material, I figure it would make sense that the cures for most of our illnesses are organic substances in food. I also wanted to be more cognizant of what I’m putting into my body and how I can eat my way to better health.
This lavender essential oil.
Now y’all know how I feel about lavender, and if you don’t, I’ll just say that my body wash, hand soap, room spray, car scent, and dish all-purpose cleaner are all lavender-scented. So it should come as no surprise that I have my oil diffuser pumping out the purple gold every night before bed.
This podcast that literally got me through the most challenging month of my life.
I cannot stress how much this podcast saved me in January. Don’t let the title fool you; if you are a girl or boy in need of motivation or positivity, run, don’t walk to your phone, and turn it on.
