I’m BACK Baybee: What I’ve Been Up To

Nobody:

Me: I’m sure you’ve all been wondering where I’ve been given my lack of presence online as of late. First, thank you all for your concern. Second, welcome back, and let’s dive in with the updates.

Work Updates

As most of you recall in my 2022 Dream Board video, a goal of mine was to get promoted to manager this year. As of May 2022, I’d like to announce that your girl has made it happen. Therefore, being the anxious, over-achieving, perfectionist that I am, I’ve been staying focused. I’ve learned that after achieving a major goal like a promotion, it’s easy to become unmotivated. When you put in the time and effort needed to get to the next level in your career it’s easy to want to take a step back and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Which I’m somewhat doing, but I’m also trying to stay inspired, grateful, and dedicated to my professional goal of making an impact in my community.

Health Updates

One thing about me…when I’m stressed, I’m going to get migraines. Another thing about me, when I experience change I get stressed. So between the new promotion and our recent move my temple has been throbbing like the devil himself is heal toeing on my head. With that, I’ve been managing my stress levels, changing up my diet, and being more intentional with my workouts.

I’ve also started going to acupuncture. I kid y’all not, I’ve been going for a month and a half now and have only gotten one minor migraine since I started. Ten out of ten would recommend.

Home Updates

Aside from the pandora continuing to wreak havoc on our lives, squabbles and war breaking out all over the streets, and the return of diseases I literally haven’t heard from since my sixth-grade history textbook, the U.S. economy has gotten embarrassing.

As if this country wasn’t already showing its raggedy side enough now we’re in a recession. With the economy fluctuating over the past few months, the housing market has been affected. Now, if you’ve been following our home ownership journey you know that we’re in escrow on a townhouse. Meaning that we’ve been approved for a home loan for our townhouse, put down the necessary funds, and verbally (and legally) said once this house is done you can direct the bill to the Mills household. With that, interest rates on mortgages have increased. So long story short, we have taken all necessary precautions to save as much money as possible before we close on our home in the fall. Hence, we moved out of our apartment and in with my mom to stack the cash.

Here are some home photos to hold us all (mainly me) over until we make more progress.
